Surfing in Tofino

Last weekend I was in Tofino with a friend. It took us 5 hours to arrive there because you have to take a ferry and after that, you have to drive for more than 200 km. The main activity that my Friend and I wanted to do in Tofino was surfing. My friend had surfed before in Hawaii a couple of times, but I had never done it before and because of that I felt quite nervous and insecure.
We were looking for some surf lessons in order to learn it in a proper way since the beginning. We spoke with several surf schools and every time we spoke with them I was getting more and more excited. I was looking forward to going to surf as soon as possible.
Next morning we took our lessons. We had to wake up at 7:00 and I was a bit disappointed because the weather was not as good as I expected. At the beginning, the water was very cold and I felt horrified thinking about being 3 hours in such a cold water, but we wore wetsuits and I felt very relieved when I realised that it was not so bad.
The first waves I tried to catch were too high for me and I could not stand on the board, but I was determined to learn how to surf and I kept on trying. While I was practicing, I was getting closer to my target, and after 2 hours I was able to stand on the board. I felt overjoyed and delighted and I was very proud of it.
